She takes a classical approach to teaching, offering traditional Kundalini Yoga. She also enjoys adding live music and dance to her classes.

Jen Hooker

Jen Tracy Hooker’s primary goal in life these days is to SLOW DOWN ☺️

She is passionate about the human body on a physical, energetic and spiritual level. The stars aligned when she discovered yoga as a freshman in college however she truly began her yogic path in 1996 while in massage school as she was eager to explore ways to administer selfcare. She was immediately drawn to not only the physical, but the mental benefits of regular practice. Jen is grateful that she recognized the need for highly-wired bodies such as her own to have tools to retrain and regulate over active nervous systems. Jen completed her yoga teacher training many moons ago with senior Iyengar teacher Nancy Stechart.

Following numerous additional trainings over the years her passion for ball rolling and yin yoga have driven the focus of her current teaching style. Her background in teaching anatomy combined with almost 30 years of neuromuscular massage give her a unique and comprehensive understanding the human body and the ability to infuse her classes with clear and valuable information. This structured information is then integrated with the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of yoga delivering a complete and comprehensive style all her own. She teaches yoga with enthusiasm, joy and passion and encourages her students to embrace self-care as a necessity, not a luxury.

She invites continuous inward reflection, observation and opportunity for growth. Jen feels the pace of life we have created is not sustainable and believes practices like yin, restorative, ball rolling, sound healing and breathwork are an integral piece to help us stay grounded in an over-stimulated world. If connecting inwardly with yourself, regulating and rewiring your nervous system and simply taking the time to slow down resonates with you then she encourages, invites and celebrates seeing you on the mat.

John Miskell

Having lived in the Colorado mountains for most of his life, John got his yoga feet wet like so many others – as a complement to other interests like skiing and running. Over the past 20 years, he has developed a deeper appreciation of yoga’s fundamental principle of breath connection, along with the self-discovery and growth that comes from a regular practice.

Drawing from a number of influences, his style is eclectic, thoughtful, deliberate and relaxed, to ensure that the many benefits of yoga are accessible to all ability levels. With the right combination of alignment, breath, enthusiasm and laughter, expect to leave his classes with your body and mind more open and receptive to life. John has been teaching for 13 years and has completed over 500 hours of teacher training, with additional modules in restorative, yin and yoga nidra.

Mallory Sinton

Mallory Sinton is a Vinyasa yoga and Yoga Nidra meditation teacher. She completed her 200 hour Vinyasa teacher training with Yoga Vail, taught by Karen Anderson and assisted by Lindsea Stowe. She also completed her training in Yoga Nidra with Yoga Vail, taught by Karen Anderson. Her path to teaching came from her desire to cultivate personal growth and spiritual development, while connecting with the world around her in a meaningful way.

Her yoga style is alignment based, linking the postures with the breath uniting the mind and body. Through her yoga teacher training, she found the practice of meditation. Greatly benefiting personally from meditating, Mallory was encouraged to share those benefits with others. The practice of Yoga Nidra is a very approachable form of meditation and it is a fantastic way to achieve a deep state of relaxation. Mallory is excited to be on this yogic path and connections she finds on it.

Phoebe Iacoves

A New Jersey girl at heart, Phoebe has called Vail home for the past decade. Her yoga journey began in an unexpected yet serendipitous way—being offered a job at a yoga studio before she was even certified. From the moment she stepped into the space, she fell in love with the practice, the people, and the energy, realizing for the first time that she had found work she truly loved because it changed her way of thinking and living.

Determined to make yoga her life, Phoebe pursued her certification and fully immersed herself in teaching, building a career centered around movement, mindfulness, and connection. Her classes blend strength and flexibility through creative, dynamic flows that cater from all levels to advanced yogis. She embraces balance, focus, and playfulness, encouraging students to explore their own practice with curiosity and confidence.

Phoebe’s passion for yoga extends beyond the mat, as she strives to inspire others to find both inner peace and personal strength in their everyday lives. Whether you’re stepping into your first class or deepening an existing practice, Phoebe creates an inviting and empowering space for all.

After having her second child in 2018, she found Pilates very therapeutic and helping her recover from her second C-section. She became certified to teach group classes on mega reformers in 2020 and soon learned after teaching that her greatest curiosity was around the therapeutic aspect of Pilates. Abbey completed her 600-hour Vail Institute of Pilates certification. It was a two year training course where she worked alongside Physical Therapists to understand Pilates in great depth and how the practice translates to health &longevity in healthy movement. Alexis Komar

Alexis Komar has spent most of her life immersed in physical activities and sports. From competitive swimming to mountain triathlons, to yoga. She completed her first yoga teacher training in New York City in 2010 while working as a Registered Nurse. She moved to the mountains in 2014 and leaned into learning all the various challenging sports the mountains had to offer. Her focus shifted away from traditional vinyasa over the years to a more mindful, alignment and anatomy-focused practice to complement the strength and mobility needed to keep active in the valley.

Alexis gave birth to her first daughter in 2020 and found herself voraciously studying and reading everything she could about the prenatal and postpartum body and mind. She realized how important the foundation of our existence is: breathing. Breathwork became a key component of her recovery and of the way she teaches her yoga classes. She completed the “Prenatal and Postpartum Core Exercise Specialist” certification in 2023. Alexis’s classes start with the breath and move into core work and mobility to promote a deeper, energy-giving breath and range of motion for you to bring with you into all your daily activities.
